Privacy Policy

1. Overview
This policy explains what information Maze Tower Wars (“the Game”) collects, why, and what choices you have. The Game is operated by Samuel Skansi (admin@mazetw.com). We collect only what we need to run the Game, and we do not sell your personal information.
Signing in is optional. You can play against the AI and use the practice range without an account. An account lets you keep your record, see your match history and appear on the leaderboard.
2. What we collect
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| From Google, when you sign in: your Google account ID (a number Google assigns to your account) and your email address. We do not ask Google for your name, photo, contacts or anything else. | To create your account and recognize you when you sign in again, and to contact you about your account if we need to | Until you delete your account |
| Your profile: the display name you choose, when you confirmed you are 13 or older and accepted the Terms, and when your account was created and last used | To show your name in matches and on the leaderboard, and to run your account | Until you delete your account |
| Your matches: for each match you finish while signed in, the mode, AI difficulty, your placement, how long it lasted, your remaining lives, kills, troops sent and troops leaked, and the date | To show your record, match history and leaderboard standing, and to spot cheating | Until you delete your account; after that the match stays in other players’ history without your name |
| A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. We store only a scrambled (hashed) form of it, which can’t be used to sign in. | To keep you signed in | 30 days from your last visit, or until you sign out |
| Technical data your browser sends with every request: IP address, browser and device type, the page asked for, and approximate location derived from the IP address | To deliver the site, keep it secure, block abuse and attacks, and find errors | Server logs are deleted within 30 days. We don’t store IP addresses in our player database. |
| Aggregate usage statistics (such as page visits and which pages are popular) from Cloudflare Web Analytics | To see how many people visit and what works | Stored only as totals. It does not use cookies or track individuals. |
| A playtest cookie, only if you open a private playtest link | To remember that you were invited to the playtest | Up to 1 year, or until you clear cookies |
| Emails you send us | To answer you | As long as needed to handle your message |
Stored only on your device: the Game saves your display settings and practice-range layouts in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device, and we can’t see them.
3. How we use it
To let you sign in and play; to match players and show leaderboards; to calculate stats; to prevent cheating, abuse, and fraud; to secure and improve the Game; to answer your messages; and to meet legal obligations. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
4. Who sees it
Other players can see your display name, your stats and your place on the leaderboard. We never show your email address to other players.
We share data only with service providers that help run the Game: Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site, stores the player database, and provides networking, security, analytics and our email forwarding; Google LLC provides sign-in. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the security of the Game.
5. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. It takes effect immediately: your account, email address, display name, stats and sign-in sessions are removed from our player database, and your past matches stay in other players’ history without your name. Copies may remain in our hosting provider’s automatic database backups for up to 30 days before they are overwritten. You can also email admin@mazetw.com and we will do it for you.
To remove the Game’s access from your Google account as well, use Google’s third-party connections page.
6. Your other choices
You can ask to see, correct or export the information we hold about you by emailing admin@mazetw.com. You can change your display name on your profile page (once a week). You can clear your browser’s cookies and local storage at any time; you will be signed out, and your saved settings and practice layouts will be lost.
7. Children
The Game is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Signing in requires you to confirm you are 13 or older. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on every page and storing sign-in cookies only in scrambled form. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
9. International users
The Game is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed there and in other countries where our service providers operate.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. If the change is material, we will update the date above and may notify you in the Game.
